Should I work with a self taught photographer?

Self taught boudoir photographers, are just as good as photographers that have gone to school. I would recommend using the same methods in both cases to see if you want to work with them.

Check to make sure they have a strong portfolio and the skills and knowledge to create amazing images that meet your expectations. While formal education or training can be good, it's not a requirement to be an excellent boudoir photographer.

Self-taught photographers can often bring a their own unique perspective and creative vision to their work. This is because they have likely developed their skills through hands on trial and error, experience versus formal education, and through using creative to acquire the knowledge needed to be a photographer. Many successful photographers are self-taught and have gone on to build successful careers in the boudoir photography industry, and even in the photography industry as a whole.

That said, when considering a self-taught boudoir photographer, it's important to review their portfolio and customer reviews to ensure that they have a track record of creating excellent quality, professional images that meet their clients' expectations. If their clients are happy, that is a good indication that you will be happy as well as a client!
