Boudoir Photography - Frequently Asked Questions
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary! When talking to women about their session, I get asked all sorts of questions. Here I have compiled a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!
Do you share my images?
Our number one priority is making sure our clients are comfortable with their boudoir photoshoot. It can be a life changing experience, but it is also nerve wracking! Sometimes you are learning to lvoe your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your spouse’s eyes and no one else’s. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, so sharing is all dependent on your personal preference! If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission, and I will only ever share if you have given me written legal permission to use your photos. If you decide to keep your photos private, that’s OK too. Your private and preferences are a priority!
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! There are so many other options besides something skimpy and lacy!
Do you have payment plans?
We offer a few payment options! There is a booking session fee to book your photoshoot, and the balance of the session is due 2 weeks before the day of your photoshoot. If you need more time to pay off you shoot, you can schedule it months in advance and make payments! We offer interest free payment plans, and we also accept PayPal credit.
Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and makeup is included in all of our boudoir shoots! I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! Our team can help you complete your look, whether it is more natural or full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can use it as inspiration!
Do you photoshop my images?
I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. We do skin smoothing, and bags under the eyes, as well as cuts, scrapes, bruises, and acne. These are non-permanent, which is why we are comfortable editing these.
We do NOT however edit anything out that IS permanent! I think it can be damaging to have your boudoir session, and then edit out parts of your self that make you who you are. Part of the processes of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means no photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is OK! I am skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and being out your shine!
Where should I buy my outfits?
So we actually have a client closet, and we carry sizes 6x to XS. We have a variety of styles as well! You are welcome to utilize our client closet, and you don’t have to bring your own lingerie, unless you want to! If you do want to bring your own lingerie, I recommend places like Victoria’s Secret, Yandy, LoveVera, Playful Promises, Thistle and Spire, Hips and Curves, and Torrid! If there is something specific that you can’t find, let me know, and I might know where to get it!
What type of print products do you have?
We offer luxury, heirloom quality albums that can be customized with covers like leathers, velvets, linens, etc. You can also get the pages gilded silver, gold or black. Another option we have is folio boxes, which is a collection of matted 8x10 portrait’s that come in beautiful box. These are a good option for someone who wants to hang images on their walls. We also offer metal wall art, which is stunning with vivid colors and a glossy finish.
Do you offer digitals?
All of our packages include some sort of print product, but some of them include digital images as well! Your digital images will be delivered in an online gallery that has unlimited downloads for you.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience, in fact it might be weird if you weren’t at least a little nervous! The nervousness at the beginning of your shoot make your moment of “WOW” after seeing your photos for the first time, so much better!
How many outfits do I get to wear?
So this will totally depend on your package! The packages range from 1 to 3 outfits, depending on the collection you purchase.
Should I get to my shoot early?
We actually prefer you to just be on time and not early. We will be there early preparing the studio for you and getting you a custom beverage, etc.
Where is your studio located?
We are in a beautiful area of Lynchburg, VA. The studio is close to some cute shops and restaurants too!
